GRL Platform Solutions, a global leader in test solutions for connectivity, is pleased to announce the launch of the EMI/EMC Chamber Ready Type-C® USB-PD Dual Role Power & Data Stimulus (CR-DPWR), a dedicated power loading and sourcing solution designed for accurate and reliable EMI/EMC compliance testing of USB Power Delivery (USB PD) devices. Supporting power loading and sourcing up to 100 W, the CR-DPWR enables engineers to create realistic worst-case operating conditions for USB Type-C® devices, including chargers, laptops, tablets, smartphones and other consumer electronics.
As USB Type-C® and USB Power Delivery continue to expand across a wide range of consumer and computing products, manufacturers face increasing requirements to validate electromagnetic compatibility under realistic operating conditions. The CR-DPWR addresses this need with stable, low-emission power operation and USB 2.0 and USB 3.2 Gen 1 (5 Gbps) data loopback capability, allowing engineers to evaluate device performance while minimizing the impact of the test equipment itself on EMI/EMC measurements.
Designed specifically for EMI/EMC validation environments, the CR-DPWR features a chamber-friendly mechanical design with minimal self-emissions and no switching noise leakage, helping maintain measurement integrity. It supports USB Type-C® and Type-A interfaces, Dual Role Power (DRP) operation and VCONN loading up to 7.5 W, providing the flexibility required for a broad range of USB-PD compliance and validation scenarios.
