Journey of GRL Platform Solutions

The GRL journey in engineering services and test solutions began in 2010, with the 1st lab opening in the heart of global innovation, Silicon Valley.

Since then, GRL has helped over 500 semiconductor and system developers stay at the forefront of rapidly evolving technology. On 18 Nov, 2022, we moved our headquarters to Lakeside Drive, Santa Clara to accommodate growing business needs.

Taipei was chosen as our next stop to meet surging demand for wired product evaluations and launch a new portfolio in wireless testing services.

Expanding Operations in Singapre as APAC HQ, R&D Centers in Bangalore, India and Penag Malaysia, Lab and Application Engineering Team in Tokyo, Japan. 

GRL's Solutions Business Unit launched indutrsry first Oscilloscope based DisplayPort Multi lane Protocol Decode Software, DisplayPort AUX protocol decode Software, SAS Stress Testing Applicaton and DisplayPort Transmitter Electrical Validation Solution

Launched industry 1st UHS-II, USB-PD, HDMI Protocol Decode Solution, and Multi Vendor SAS Receiver Test Solution. Introduced 1st HDMI EDID Emulator for automating the electrical Validatoin Solutions. 

 Introduced the industry’s first USB Power Delivery Test Controller (GRL-USB-PD-C1), approved by USB-IF and adopted as an integral part of Apple’s MFi testing. Achieved significant progress in integrating multi-vendor Rx solutions for PCI Express, and secured SD Association approval for UHS-II host and card test solutions.  

GRL launched the P1 Controller for PCI Express automation, introduced PCI Express PLL Test Automation Software, and unveiled the KayaQ test automation framework.

 Launched the industry’s first all-in-one USB Power Delivery solution, with the GRL-USB-PD-C2 Controller for compliance testing and the F1 Controller for functional validation.

The GRL-USB-PD-C2 Controller was subsequently approved by USB-IF for USB Power Delivery compliance testing 

OCF Foundation partnered with GRL to deliver IoTivity Open source implementation.

 Launched the updated GRL-C2 Controller, approved by Qualcomm for Quick Charge 4 certification, and introduced GRL Power Suite Pro for USB Power Delivery functional validation and performance testing. 

 Launched the V-UP-10SC and V-UP-2SC USB Power Delivery manufacturing testers for reliability testing, together with M1 Software for manufacturing validation management. A1 sniffer for analysing and debugging USB-PD designs

introduced the Wireless Power Qi Transmitter Tester.  

 GRL reached several important industry milestones, including WPC approval for its Qi test solution, the launch of the industry’s first dual-role USB Power Delivery tester, and GRL’s PCI Express Base Specification test solution and DisplayPort compliance test software also received industry approval, further strengthening its position in compliance and validation test solutions. 

 GRL introduced Qi2 transmitter and receiver test solutions,  received USB-IF approval for the industry’s first all-in-one EPR range compliance tester C2-EPR. GRL also introduced the industry’s first multi-vendor oscilloscope-based USB4 Tx, Rx, and return loss test solution.  

 GRL’s Qi 2.0 test solution received approval from the Wireless Power Consortium, marking an important milestone in supporting next-generation wireless charging validation. GRL also introduced the industry’s first multi-vendor PCI Express 5 test solution, enabling broader interoperability and more flexible compliance testing across diverse test environments. 

Wireless power transmitter and receiver test solutions received Wireless Power Consortium approval for Qi 2.1, supporting both MPP and APP power profiles. Also introduced the industry’s first multi-vendor USB4 Version 2 test solution, & USB4 EV sideband controller, approved by USB-IF further advancing interoperability and high-speed interface validation.  

Achieved a major industry milestone with Wireless Power Consortium approval for its Qi 2.2 transmitter and receiver test solutions, representing the industry’s first approved Qi 2.2 test solution. USB-IF also approved GRL’s USB Power Delivery Shared Capacity interoperability and compliance automation software. Introduced the industry’s first multi-vendor PCI Express 6 receiver and transmitter test solution, further strengthening next-generation validation platforms.
